Sectra session in the Digital Pathology Theatre

Don’t miss the Sectra session where we will share our key takeaways from recent digital pathology projects and demonstrate the importance of using a pathology PACS.

When: Sunday, June 23 at 1pm
Where: Digital Pathology Theatre, Great Room AB, Sheraton On The Falls Hotel
Session title: Be prepared, digital pathology will come sooner than you think

Speaker: David Boissonault, Senior Solutions Consultant at Sectra

Dave has been working with Sectra for more than 10 years and has been involved in many digital pathology projects, since the early days of Sectra digital pathology solutions in 2015. Mainly working in the USA, most recently Dave was involved in a project with University Hospitals of Cleveland and Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City. Dave has extensive knowledge and experience working with digital pathology, which is ready to be shared.

Advancements in immunotherapy and patient-targeted treatments will push for the digitization of pathology in order to cope with the increased complexity and workloads. The investment in an enterprise imaging platform is substantial and selecting a solution that does not meet the requirements for digital pathology can be an expensive mistake. Pathology labs that have not yet digitized are now in a position where they not only can avoid making the same mistakes that radiology did (e.g thinking it is enough to digitize with only a modality/scanner and a viewer software) but also learn from the first wave of digital pathology adopters.

Dave will share his advice based on the recent digitization projects and highlight the importance of utilizing a PACS from day one of the digitization. He will also give his key takeaways on what to look for when evaluating such solution.
