A pathologist’s perspective: How to successfully transition from analogue to digital diagnostics as done by Region Skåne

Session 1 teaches you how to successfully implement digital pathology from the experience and learnings of Dr. Kevin Sandeman, MD, Consultant Histopathologist and Head of Department, Malmö, Region Skåne. Region Skåne has implemented digital pathology in four labs across their enterprise. With 14 scanners digitizing all histopathology cases, they may be the world’s largest institution using digital pathology for primary diagnostics. Elin Kindberg, Global Product Manager, Sectra, will also share her advice on what to account for when going digital.

At the end of the session, you will be able to:

  • Describe how to what is necessary for incorporating digital pathology
  • Develop an implementation plan for digital pathology

Connected in distance: Analyzing telepathology’s impact during COVID-19 and the benefits of implementing remote readings

Session 2 analyzes the power of telepathology and how it enabled efficient remote reading for Dr. Mats Wolving, lead pathologist, Linköping University Hospital. Dr. Wolving will provide his best practices on how to conduct remote readings and how to set up an efficient workspace at home. Elin Kindberg, Global Product Manager, Sectra, will also share her findings on telepathology and how it merges with digital pathology.
