Linköping, 22 December 2015 - Sectra (STO: SECT B) has signed a new six-year contract with Unilabs, a leading care provider for radiology and laboratory medicine in the Nordic region. The contract comprises Sectra’s IT-solution for the handling and storage of radiology images and patient information (PACS and RIS) for Unilabs’ Swedish and Norwegian businesses. Sectra’s IT solution enhances accessability and simplifies communication of medical images in and between hospitals, thus facilitating radiologists’ everyday work and contributing to better and more efficient care. The order value amounts to approximately EUR 6.5 million.

Unilabs already uses Sectra’s IT solution for its entire Swedish business. The company has now chosen to renew its Swedish contract and to expand it to include the business in Norway.

“We take care of a large number of patients within our operations, which places demands on safe, stable and easy-to-use systems,” says Jan Hörnström, Business Area Manager for Unilabs Radiology. “With Sectra, we can maintain the high quality of our services and meet our customers’ expectations.”

Focus on cancer care

Most patients undergo a radiological examination as part of the diagnosis and treatment of their illness or injury. This means that the possibility of handling radiology images simply and efficiently, and communicating these to personnel in other care units, is of major importance for the quality of the care provided to the patients.

To enable health care providers to give better, faster and more patient-centered care, Sectra offers systems and services for comprehensive handling and storage of all types of medical images, primarily for large image diagnostics units, such as radiology, mammography and pathology, but also in other departments where medical imaging material is used. Medical images for cancer diagnostics run as a common thread through Sectra’s offering.
