Introduced between 2020 and 2021, Digital Pathology created a virtual link within a PACS environment for four separate cellular pathology laboratories in Northern Ireland. The region adopted PACS-based workflows, becoming one of the first to implement PACS-based histopathology reporting instead of the traditional LIMS-based approach.

Paul Kelly, Consultant Histopathologist at Royal Victoria Hospital, Belfast, and Visiting Professor at Ulster University will discuss the implementation and current state of digital pathology in Belfast, along with future plans and aspirations at the Digital Pathology and AI Congress 2024.
